Home is where the heart is. Everyone has said it, time and time again. I can now speak from experience and tell you it’s true.
We recently sold our first home. The place we brought all our babies, tucked them in each night, the place we grew as a family. There were the birthday parties, Christmas mornings and cozy movie nights, complete with hot chocolate and delicious sugar cookies baked in our humble kitchen.
When I first saw the home that we are now about to move into, I just knew it was perfect for our growing family. I could see our little ones playing in the pool out back and picture myself curled up by the stone fireplace at night. The thought of this beautiful home possibly being ours was thrilling! But I also knew saying goodbye to my sweet home filled with memories and surrounded by the neighbors we loved so dearly wouldn’t be easy.
We were blessed to have it all work out, and we have been fortunate to live with my generous parents while our new home gets some needed updates. Watching my babies bond with their grandparents is a special time in my life I won’t ever forget. I still think of our first house. I know I will always cherish our time there. But I’ve learned that as long as I’ve got my crew with me, I’ll always be home.

Saying goodbye to Brunswick
